Stanislaus Fly Fishers

A Charter Club of fly Fishers International and Member Northern California Council of Fly Fishers International

          The Stanislaus Fly Fishers is headquartered in Modesto, CA. and is a Charter Club of Fly Fishers International. Its purpose is to generate more interest in the art and passion of fly fishing and provide an oportunity for local flyfishing enthusiasts to share their experiences and knowledge. The Club meets at the Tuolumne River Lodge, 2429 River Road in Modesto, on the second Tuesday of each month starting at  6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to anyone with an interest in fly fishing.

All SFF memberships are “Family Membership” status;  spouses, significant others, and/or children must also be Fly Fishers International members to be official SFF members. FFI General Memberships include you, your spouse or partner, and children under 18.

     Interested in learning to tie flies? Here’s your chance! Dates are April 2nd, 11th, 17th, 30th, and May 7th. Ceres Schools District Office. 2503 Lawrence Street, Ceres. The class will be led by various members of Stanislaus Fly Fishers. This will be a five-night class with classes one week apart except for the week of April 12st-25th. This basic course will cover tying a series of flies over several sessions intended to teach foundational tying skills. No equipment or tying experience needed. Cost will be $75 for SFF members or $100 for non-members. A $50 deposit is required to take club equipment home for practice which will be refunded upon return of equipment. Class will be limited to six participants. Since class size is limited, only paid registrations are final … first come, first served.  Register below or at an SFF meeting.

Beginning Fly Tying Class Registration
Registration for the fly tying classes to be held: April 2, 11, 17, 30, and May 7, 2025.

       New to fly fishing? Need help learning to cast? Join us for a three-hour clinic covering basic rod & reel setups and casting basics t0 help get you started. Bring your own equipment or use ours. Class sizes are limited so register and pay early to secure your spot! $20 per person for SFF members or $25 for non-members. Children welcome, but must be at least be 12 years old and accompanied by an adult during the class. Questions? Email learn@stanislausflyfishers.org
